Mauritius – Land of colorful skies
Hi There! Do you know that Mauritius is also knows as Land of different colored skies and also Land of Shooting stars, well all the days been thinking how could we get the best shot of the night skies. We been trying our level best to get the best pictures anyway. The pictures of today were taken last night. Did you notice that last night, so many times many of us do miss the beauty of the nature. Well one must really see to enjoy the nature. That was awesome so bright, vibrant and everything and words are less to explain.
The photographs has been taken from quatre-bornes region well do manage with the best shot we got, coz we didn’t use any tripod or something to get the steady shot of it.
Well all the shots been taken in Canon 50D - 25-135 ultrasonic L series lens Manual focus
Shutter speed : 3.2 seconds
ISO : 600SR
Focus : Manual at 4 point mid range
It was bit painful to focus on something with clouds and so on. But here are the ones you could see and enjoy how it is living in Mauritius with beauty of clouds, as we always said Mauritius would be the best island without humans at all. Well this is just our feeling.
That was the first shot we took from distance, and waiting for the clouds to clear a bit and focusing mainly on the target though.
There goes the second shot which we’ve taken from different angle but you can see lots of clouds passing by.
Here you can notice the the light bit of red involved in the clouds, and something we love about photography is the definition of the picture which would talk so much.
Dark clouds getting close to the moon, or you might say, dark clouds taking over the moon.
There comes the darkest patch, it was tough to handle in here, as hands were shaking holding the angle and the location.
This is like the bad taking over the good syndrome, but right after these photoshot we had rain.
Well here you can see it very clear and see the glow over the clouds, thats the beauty of it. You will not be able to see it with your naked eyes that easily. Being behind the camera you can notice that glow.
We could have taken more, right after that we taught we would wait for the clouds to passby, but unfortunately clouds passed by and there he went and got the rain too, so Mr.Moon disappeared.

Mauritius, we all know how it is and we got hammered in different ways to accept what it is and what it is not, so we from quatre-bornes.com taught we would show the world something, which they might not be able to see if they are sitting in the hotels, actually it was a photography training materials which we wanted to prepare, but at the same time as it is of mauritius based so we taught we would fill in some information here too.
The photographs are taken as is of mauritius, they are no modifications except 1 or 2 pictures were converted to sepia tones and added the frame to the pictures.
We will write more on it, once we get to know have some time we will surely update the information related to the locations and so on, till then you can start to view them.
The above pic has been taken in port louis – The capital city of maruitius. You would find many such trees in mauritius as a fashion part of interiors or hotels.
This picture has been taken on the way to Port Louis, this picture has been taken from a top angle elevation so that we can get the good contrast. This is the beauty of the nature we must say.
Just some green plants on the way to port louis from quatre bornes. This shot looks great due to the fact that we had good rains last night and the fresh look of trees and plants and all clean with full green. Hopefully we would be seeing these trees grow, coz due to heavy development on the roadside and cutting down the trees which are hundreds of years old. Sad but living in reality is different.
Another shot from Port Louis near the waterfront location, where you would find these trees in plenty, the only thing you need to do is wait for the right time to shoot the picture.
This is the hill near to Port Louis on the highway, this looks beautiful due to the fact it has dark shades and good contrast.
This picture has been taken from the highway from port louis back to quatre bornes town. This is the mountain they used for branding Mauritius , well you’ve never heard of mauritius branding, well you must or look for that article in the website.
This is Citadel, everyone in mauritius knows about this place. You can see it from different parts of Port Louis for sure.

He served as prime minister from 1982 to 1995 in four consecutive terms and then was voted out of office from 1995 to 2000. He was the prime minister who held the office for the longest run, one of 16 years, overtaking Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, who held the office for 14 years. As leader of the Militant Socialist Movement, he became prime minister again, after the 2000 elections, for his fifth term. His alliance partner, Paul Bérenger of the Mauritian Militant Movement, succeeded him in 2003 after serving as Jugnauth’s deputy for three years. Jugnauth was then elected president in 2003. He was a Member of Parliament for 35 years, from 1963 to 1995 and from 2000 to 2003.
Project LION (Lower Indian Ocean Network) Officially launched
We all know by now that the hopeless Telecommunication company of Mauritius - Mauritius Telecom aka Orange with so much of media publicity has officially inaugurated the optic cable LION (Lower Indian Ocean Network) by none other than our The Prime Minister, Dr Navin Ramgoolam. The ceremony took place at ‘Cable Landing Station’ of Mauritius Telecom in Terre Rouge in the presence of Faugoo Satish, Minister of Agro Industry and production and food security, Dulull Ashraf, Minister for Information Technology and Communications, Devanand Ritoo, Minister of Youth and Sports and many personalities.
