At the launch of a booklet on the rights of the child at Bell Village SSS yesterday, Minister of Education, Vasant Bunwaree has announced that starting from next year, sex education will be part the curriculum.

If you are wondering that SEX eduction means some sort of ancient knowledge and should not be talked about then you are completely wrong, coz now a days we are hearing so many bizzard happenings in colleges. If you wonder your kids are just going to schools or colleges, just cross over. Coz people are coming up with crazy ideas and crazy things and we have very much a countable number of under 15 yrs old mothers in Mauritius – Oh no we are telling you the truth, well but it is the fact, but the government will not talk about it, or so many families even put their own kids out of the house. Well this is part of living with technology.

If you might want to know what really SEX Eduction in Mauritius would might be offering or just to know the general opinion of SEX EDUCATION
“Sex education, which is sometimes called sexuality education or sex and relationships education, is the process of acquiring information and forming attitudes and beliefs about sex, sexual identity, relationships and intimacy. Sex education is also about developing young people’s skills so that they make informed choices about their behaviour, and feel confident and competent about acting on these choices. It is widely accepted that young people have a right to sex education. This is because it is a means by which they are helped to protect themselves against abuse, exploitation, unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV and AIDS. It is also argued that providing sex education helps to meet young people’s rights to information about matters that affect them, their right to have their needs met and to help them enjoy their sexuality and the relationships that they form”

So what information should be given to young people?

Young people get information about sex and sexuality from a wide range of sources including each other, through the media including advertising, television and magazines, as well as leaflets, books and websites (such as www.avert.org) which are intended to be sources of information about sex and sexuality. Some of this will be accurate and some inaccurate. Providing information through sex education is therefore about finding out what young people already know and adding to their existing knowledge and correcting any misinformation they may have. For example, young people may have heard that condoms are not effective against HIV or that there is a cure for AIDS. It is important to provide information which corrects mistaken beliefs. Without correct information young people can put themselves at greater risk.

Information is also important as the basis on which young people can developed well-informed attitudes and views about sex and sexuality. Young people need to have information on all the following topics:

Sexual development & reproduction – the physical and emotional changes associated with puberty and sexual reproduction, including fertilisation and conception, as well as sexually transmitted diseases and HIV.

Contraception & birth control – what contraceptives there are, how they work, how people use them, how they decide what to use or not, and how they can be obtained.

Relationships – what kinds of relationships there are, love and commitment, marriage and partnership and the law relating to sexual behaviour and relationships as well as the range of religious and cultural views on sex and sexuality and sexual diversity.

In addition, young people should be provided with information about abortion, sexuality, and confidentiality, as well as about the range of sources of advice and support that is available in the community and nationally.

Discussions are on with the introduction of sex education into the curriculum. However, the Education Minister said that it will somewhere by 2011 the project would be realizing. It takes time to explain to parents and students the need for sex education to them.

“I think we should allow children to have knowledge in a structured way on this aspect of their anatomy. But beyond the books, “said Vasant Bunwaree. Off the books because he believes those who do not learn biology without access to this knowledge.

“So he must explain to all students of sexuality as it takes place in life in general. This is something that is already applied in periods of activity, but a little here and there randomly … not so structured, “said Minister of Education.

“That’s what we do – we will structure the teaching of sex education, for it is part of the curriculum. Of course, this subject will be explained to students differently according to age. We fails to impart the same thing to a child 11 years and a 18 year old, “he says.

The minister said he prefers to take the necessary time and successful implementation of the project. ”This is something that is rather unusual. We must first make clear to students and parents the purpose of this new issue before the mainstream curriculum, “he concludes.

How would India ever would forget the issue of 26/11 at Mumbai, which shocked and made rage out of Indian public and also we did loose one well known Mauritian in the 26/11 at Mumbai. There has been quite a long long discussions for over an year to find the traces and the culprits. Yesterday was the day we suppose it was final call for all those who were waiting for the outcome.

it was executed by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) at the behest of Pakistan, said Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam while opening his final arguments in the case at the special court on Tuesday.

State Home Minister R R Patil and Minister of State for Home, Ramesh Bagwe were in the courtroom when the final stage of the trial against lone arrested terrorist Ajmal Kasab and two Indians began.

Nikam pegged much of his opening statement on the retracted confessional statement given by Kasab before a magistrate though he added that enough substantial evidence was presented before the court to infer that Pakistan was behind the attack.

“The Crime Branch seized fake college identity cards from the deceased and arrested accused. This proves that the attackers were acting on someone’s behalf or else why would a terror outfit conceal their illegal act,” he argued.

Nikam said there were nine points based on which inferences could be drawn that Pakistan was behind the attack. He said Kasab in his confessional statement spoke about ‘Major Saab’, who according to Nikam, is a Pakistan Army officer. Reading from the confession, Nikam said during the weapons training to the attackers, this Major Saab had come and tested their firing abilities.

Another point he argued was about the intelligence training given to the attackers which could only be given with support from Army officials.

The FBI, which investigated the case in India and Pakistan, had also established that one Col R Sadatulla had accessed the voice over internet protocol account of Kharak Singh, through which the handlers communicated with the gunmen at Hotel Taj, Oberoi-Trident and Nariman House, Nikam said, adding that this was another important point to establish Pakistan’s role in the attack.

The prosecution claimed the 26/11 attack was not just merely an attack by 10 gunmen but a well-orchestrated and meticulously planned operation with deep hatred towards India. He urged Pakistan, which has been delaying the trial against seven arrested accused there, including Zaki-Ur-Rehman Lakhvi, to use the evidence adduced in the Mumbai court and conclude their proceedings at the earliest.

Practically everyone owns a camera these days, and its easy to download them into your personal computer. It wasn’t like that last decade, we need to spends hundreds and hundreds of bucks to see the results (Film Rolls, Camera, Developing and Printing). Considering that there are different kinds of cameras available in the market, this is a hobby that is accessible to anyone who is interested. Getting started is not difficult. Probably the only really tough part is to decide what kind of photography you would like to focus on – while some people enjoy landscape photography, some specialize in portraits and some love children, nature and wildlife photography.

Most aspiring photographers wistfully look at professional photographers’ magazines and journals wondering whether they can ever take pictures like those. But trust what we say in QUATRE-BORNES.COM – IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING and every photographer had his/her first step towards it, No one ever knew what they wanted, but its an art of seeing and framing which makes the difference.

Much of photography involves experimentation, its surely not a rocket science but we are not going to say its going to be one click and you became the excellent photographer.

Also you can make several adjustments to get the picture just the way you want it. So where do you begin once you decide that you want to take up photography as a hobby?

Get Started with your PHOTOGRAPHY in Mauritius

As we said earlier, you do not need the most expensive camera to take good pictures. Ask any experienced photographer. And here’s a secret you must know – more than the camera, it is the photographer who clicks fantastic pictures. Some basic knowledge of how to expose a picture, how to focus and how to get the right angle is more important than the best camera.

It is best to get started with one of those aim and shoot cameras, which can be upgraded with attachments like telephoto, wide angle lens and macro at no major cost. While there are plenty of traditional and digital cameras available, you must go with the one that you feel the most comfortable with, within your budget. Do a little research in terms of different types of cameras by visiting the stores and getting a feel of the cameras you like.

Every brand have models suitable for different budgets, experience levels and needs. The Internet is full of excellent resources on the topic and at the end of this article we will share the best ones with you. You will want to know how to choose the camera that is right for you. But buying in Mauritius is quite a expensive task, some of us bought it abroad and some buy online from ebay or the place you feel comfortable. But we use Canon eos-1d (mark iii) or Canon 50D for all our shots.

Learn The Basics Of Photography

Getting a good camera does not guarantee fantastic pictures. It is best to equip yourself with some knowledge of the basic rules in photography. This can be done with books, videos and by talking to professional photographers. Get to know about how to compose, how to expose, shutter speed and camera settings, f numbers, zoom lens, techniques like getting the right lighting, using flash, etc. You can have great fun experimenting. Many people have an instinctive feel for the right time to click a photograph. But there are people who learn and go on to become great photographers. But we can’t promise you after reading our articles you would be come a great photographer, but we can promise you atleast that “You will understand how and why and what you must frame” which and whereby you get good results.

Ultimately, you will become a good photographer only by going out there and shooting pictures. Here are some tips that will help you develop your photography skills.

Make sure you always carry your camera. Why miss some wonderful pictures simply because you forgot to bring your camera?

Get really familiar with your camera. Try out all the features it has, several times over. You don’t want to fumble when it comes to figuring out what that sign on your camera means when there is a really exclusive shot waiting to be taken.

The more pictures you shoot, the better you get. This is easier with a digital camera as the number of photos you can take is unlimited. Take several pictures of the same thing from different angles. Apart from preserving your memories, it helps you analyze how you can improve. By critiquing your own pictures you can figure out how it could be better composed. Watch for flaws and learn from them.

Even if you have learned the basics of photography, you must still respect your instincts for the right angle when you click a picture.

Always back up your work. Each picture you click is an original – and who knows – a masterpiece. The first thing you want to do is back up all your pictures.

It is important to interact with other photographers. The best way to do this is to become a part of online forums and camera clubs. Browse around and you will find plenty of excellent groups that eat, sleep and breathe photography.

These forum members are usually more than ready to answer any queries or doubts you might have related to the subject. It is a good idea to become a member of a group whose interests are similar to yours. You will find a wealth of information in terms of tutorials, tips on improving your techniques, equipment reviews and so on.

One of the things about photography is that as a learner you must be prepared to face a variety of reactions. At the same time photography is a matter of personal perception. The best thing to do is to heed constructive criticism and use it to help you become a better photographer.

This information is only aimed at getting you started. You will find that the videos are great at teaching since you can see professional photographers teach you their techniques and tricks. There are valuable links that can tell you all that you want to know about photography. Get bitten by the shutterbug and enjoy yourself!
