Mauritius – Oh the paradise Island on earth, well well well! now here we are. The most obvious question in Mauritius these days, where are all those youngsters moving to. Coz we have seen so many of them disappear from the country all of a sudden. Its like my own circle of friends and colleagues we must talk about, most of them left the country and some are on the waiting list to pack their bags and flee from the country very fast. To the general knowledge its the option one would always say “Grass is Green else where”. But we have to be sure that it is Green Else where. But how sure of it we don’t have any perspective about that do we. One would never accept in their own mother land to put an extra effort to live much more comfortable life than living abroad, sure its the case with so many of them. I did travel to many parts of the world seem many Mauritians working here and there, to your surprise you would also hear, people shifting up the career lines and working there just because he get sufficient bucks “Money” and ego strike is too high.  Just a real life example we would talk about is of my own friend who was working for a Bank in Mauritius resigned his job and packed the bags with his wife who was again working in a bank, so you can easily guess how much money they would be earning “Both of them were mid range executives in the bank” – So the salaries were touching around 70K per month for just couple.

They had their own house, which has been given by their parents  - So there is no investment.
They got married in late 2008 and still no children and they do live in one of the posh locations in Quatre Bornes. So to your knowledge they are living the most comfortable in Mauritius. Well coming back to the point both of them last year got emigrated to parts of Montreal and to my surprise when I had talk to him last night, he was so happy to tell me that he is a BUTCHER and wife is working in some gardens Picking and packing up fruits.  So its just not the money people earn here makes lot of difference in Emigration, but the fact also the society pushes them to move away from the country.

Mauritius being a paradise Island on earth, most of the younger generation believe that there is no scope for meritocracy in the country and country people are really short minded with very less scope to come up in life.  Well my own friend when I asked him  see the chat transcript except the names  ”ME = mysteryminds  FR=Friend of mine”

ME Says: Man whats wrong with ya.. you left a lovely job in the bank and now you are working as a butcher
FR Says: so what is the big problem, I still earn much more than in Mauritius
ME Says: Comeon you could work harder here and doing more work and earn much more money right
FR Says: No man! its impossible to be in Mauritius, The so called society is suffocating and you know great Mauritian PALAB, its too tiring must say
ME Says: Its everywhere man! just for that sake of it you cant be a run away child from your motherland
FR Says: The entire country is one way or other so much corrupted  by its own rules and regulations, so its much better here, even though a small work least i can live peacefully
ME Says: Well what must i say dear! if you are happy out there, be happy and god bless ya
FR Says: Man I tell you! you must surely be out of that sick place and you have much better scopes outside that place.
ME Says:  Lets see man! if the grass start to look green else where… why not…

That was the scope of  emigration to other countries. In recent past years there has been more than 100K applications set out for different countries like Australia, Canada, France, UK, Ireland, Italy and not lately ppl are moving to singapore and India. Well sounds like a joke, but trust me, they are couple of families in quatre-bornes who went down to India and settle there. Might be they are utilizing PIO card or something for sure.
