5960 persons were vaccinated against influenza A (H1N1) during the weekend at the show of Health, Welfare and Sport held at the Swami Vivekananda Convention Centre.
Indeed, 10,000 doses of vaccine were made available to the public by the Ministry of Health. The public has welcomed this initiative. Saturday and Sunday, young and old, queuing to get vaccinated.
The vaccination campaign against influenza A (H1N1) has been intensified at the health centers and hospitals across the country, and Rodrigues. In early winter, the flu vaccines were mainly reserved for the elderly, and pregnant women among others. However, now everyone can get vaccinated. It should be noted that before being vaccinated person must not have flu symptoms such as cough.
According to Dr. Hack Sorefan, spokesman for the Private Medical Practitioners Association (ARPU) is expected to decline in the number of cases of influenza A. He suggested several possible reasons for this decline: increased vaccination campaign, a public awareness about precautions to take. It welcomes the decision of the Department of vaccinating a larger number of people. The time factor will also contribute to improving the situation. The temperature has risen slightly in recent days. And soon it will be the end of winter. This favors the least spread of influenza.
