Today on we are going to be having a busy events in Quatre-Bornes and Vacoas. Voila there is nothing great about this event, but to say it in a modern way lets call it 24/7 in mauritius. Now you tell me how does it sound “mauritius 24/7″ . We did write some thing related to 24/7 life style in mauritius, you can check the link and what we taught about this so called 24/7 mauritius.
So whats going to be so special about 24/7 in quatre-bornes and vacoas. We strongly think the town would more or less look like in Christmas Season and major traffic jams around the place. So if you are planning to take out your transport and impress someone on the streets, just forget about it. How about people crossing the town, checkout the routes or cross this one of the biggest and successful towns quite early so that you dont get caught in the traffic.
We are sure that HRDC is planning to put up some events here and there, wisely thingking it must be somewhere close to Municipality, somewhere close to candos stadium and what are you expecting to be seeing there, might be the spit fire stuff, sega or those irritating radio programs which are live.
You would smell some got grills around everywhere, but not sure how many businesses – Shops would be open in the town. According to what HRDC assumes or projects is “A 24/7 economy does not mean an individual working continuously for 24 hours. Rather it means that a country’s economic activities are ongoing and many activities are happening concurrently.”
We have come across many such events around the country from 2009, but how many of them are following the trend of 24/7 in mauritius – Practically 0%, still you could notice the business towns like Port Louis is dead by max 6P.M.
What people need to understand by 24/7 in mauritius has and will be the biggest factor. HRDC or the govt may talk about this and pitch on this in coming elections too, end of day all that matters is the results. We still agree HRDC is doing a great job by “pushing the buffalows to the pond, end of the day you cant compell buffalows to drink water from the pond”. Well this is the typical case in Mauritius small business community.
What we think HRDC is not really promoting ?
People need to understand even though they finish late at their work, they can come back home relax a bit and walk in any street to buy themselves a cup of coffee or bear.
You can go out and have a complete car wash
You can go out and still could repair your wheel which has been punctured.
You can walk in any medical store around
You can walk in streets with full freedom, knowing that the roads are as safe as morning times
You are sure that you can get the public transport any time of the day to any place and they know they can travel independantly.
What we think HRDC is overdoing?
Making people assume or think that everyday there would be some events on road side – “Dancing, singing or rest of garbage”
Comparing Mauritius with countries/cities around the world (e.g singapore, mumbai, newyork, hongkong or what so ever). Tiger remains a tiger, you can never paint an ASS like a tiger and try to prove its a tiger” It would surely wash away one day or other. But in mauritus we are very smart and we say “We will keep painting the ASS” which would surely be looking like Tiger and one day or other people would believe that this ASS is TIGER, and we are sure that Mauritius works well in this contest.
We would spend millions of rupees time and again waisting on something with wrong projection than saying the right things.
So do remember we would be on the streets try catching some snap shots to know what, why, when and who but surely you donno us and we donno you. But some facts would surely drop in here for you.
So lemme say thankyou and hope to see you at 24/7 for you..
