Just this morning we been talking about the 24/7 event in quatre-bornes and vacoas region starting today till sunday (5th – 7th March 2010). After Port Louis,Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill,  Grandbay regions town of Quatre Bornes and Vacoas live to the rhythm of 24 / 7, 5 to 7 March 2010.

To our nasty surprise, the whole day its been very gloomy around the country, so there comes a big rain almost all parts of the country, its been raining from past 1 hour not that heavy, but its called as a rain in Mauritian contest.  So hopefully we would be seeing some good fun at street side. There would be one more challange now for the police in mauritius. Normally in mauritius if it rains, the roads get jammed for god knows the reason, but 100% guarantee that its a jam and due to this event you can expect more traffic pumping inside these towns so are we saying something loud and clear – “Get yourself in advance else you might have nasty surprises”

The event is held as part of celebrations marking the 42nd anniversary of the Independence of Mauritius.

The official launch of the Festival of Mauritius 24 / 7 will take place Friday, March 5, 2010 to 19 hours in the Municipality of Quatre Bornes and 20 hours in the Municipality of Vacoas.

As in previous events of 24 / 7, Mauritians have the opportunity to make purchases beyond the traditional hours which is suppose to be by max 6p.M local time and benefit both moments of entertainment, leisure and enjoy the diversity of Mauritian cuisine (its Dholl Puri, Roti, Gateau Pima  well thas traditional)

During these three days, concerts, fashion shows, street entertainment and the arts and business will take place in two town from 18 hours until 00:30 midnight. Two podium will be erected in Quatre Bornes and Vacoas another in where by artists will be performing.

The main objective of the Mauritian festival 24 / 7 is to allow traders of all banks to operate beyond the traditional hours of their profitable business, create new jobs and enhance the vitality of Mauritian artists .  Thus, provisions will be taken to ensure transport service until midnight for three days only by NTC  bus service . 

For public safety Mauritius Police will deploy additional staff and implement a plan to divert the traffic to ensure the smooth running of the event ( Are we not talking completely different  – so 24/7 shows to the world is a complete gimmick, rather than making it a full time its almost a festival or even a carnival to be modern).
