First: Let your sandpaper become
one with some key spots: the knees, back pockets,
top of waistband, and any other area that you think
would rock to look a little distressed. Rub like the
wind. Sandpaper works especially well on darker washes.
Then: Pick a place (the other knee,
the other back pocket, the outer lining of a front
pocket) and give it tiny (*tiny,* we said) snips with
the scissors. Use your razor to pick at the wound,
making it frayed without looking cut from a pattern.
