What you'll need: a pair of jeans destined
to become a pair of capris, scissors, fabric glue
or Stitch Witchery or a sewing kit, and some extra
fabric of your choosing.
|
Ready:
Put on your jeans, and measure the length of capri
you'd like to make. Mid-calf is a great length for
summer. Cut 'em off nice and even.
Set: Cut your fabric so that it
makes a hem about three or four inches tall from the
bottom of the pants (fold it under on showing edges
to keep it from looking sloppy), and follow the directions
on your fabric glue or Stitch Witchery (or hand sew
it, crafty girl!) to secure the fabric.
Go: Fold the bottom edge under the
lip of the jeans and secure it with your method of
choice underneath. You'll have colorful cuffs that
keep your capris in snazzier shape for those times
when you want to look a little more sophis.

What you'll need: a couple of plain barrettes,
some denim scraps, scissors, and a hot glue gun.
Go to town: Cut the scraps to the
exact size of the barrette. Drop a dollop of hot glue
on top, and press the denim onto the barrette, covering
that plain clippie and turning it into a get-noticed
accessory. Or, cut the denim into five or six petal
shapes, attach in the middle with glue, plop a cute
bead in the center, glue to the barrette, and you've
got a jean flower hair thingie! Hooray!
